Privacy Policy

LocalCut AI is designed to clean up video and audio files locally on your Mac. The app removes silence and, when enabled, detects filler words using a local speech model.

Media files stay on your Mac

Imported video and audio files are processed locally. LocalCut AI does not upload your media files, transcripts, cut plans, or exported videos to our servers for analysis.

Files you choose

The app reads a media file only after you select it through the file picker, click the drop area and choose it, or drop it into the app. Cleaned exports are saved only to the location you choose. By default, the app may suggest your Desktop as an export location.

Local AI model download

Filler-word detection requires a local speech model. The model may be downloaded once from the model source shown in the app onboarding, then reused offline. This model download is not a media upload. The model host or CDN may receive normal network metadata required to serve the download, such as your IP address.

Network use

LocalCut AI uses network access for first-time model download and future model updates. Media files are not uploaded for analysis.

Data collection

This policy describes the current app design: LocalCut AI does not collect analytics, telemetry, personal data, transcripts, or media files. If payment processing, license activation, crash reporting, analytics, support forms, or account features are added later, this policy will be updated before those features are released.

Purchases

If LocalCut AI is distributed through the Mac App Store with paid digital features, purchases should be handled through Apple In-App Purchase. Apple handles payment processing; LocalCut AI does not receive full payment card details.

Permissions

LocalCut AI uses macOS file access permissions to read selected media and write exports. It requests only the access needed for the selected workflow.

Children's privacy

LocalCut AI is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when LocalCut AI changes. The effective date at the top of this page indicates the latest version.

End User License Agreement

This End User License Agreement governs your use of LocalCut AI. By installing or using LocalCut AI, you agree to this agreement.

License

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use LocalCut AI on devices you own or control, subject to this agreement and applicable law.

Ownership

LocalCut AI is licensed, not sold. All rights not expressly granted remain with the app owner and applicable licensors.

Your content

You retain ownership of your video, audio, transcript, and exported media content. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights needed to process and distribute the content you use with LocalCut AI.

Acceptable use

You may not use LocalCut AI to violate laws, infringe intellectual property rights, distribute harmful content, reverse engineer the app except where permitted by law, or attempt to bypass technical protections.

Third-party components and models

LocalCut AI may use third-party frameworks, media technologies, and speech models. Those components may be subject to their own licenses. When a model is downloaded, the app should show the model source so you can review its terms.

Purchases and subscriptions

If paid features, subscriptions, or lifetime unlocks are offered through the Mac App Store, payment and purchase management are handled by Apple. Subscription cancellation and renewal management are available through your Apple account settings.

No warranty

LocalCut AI is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that every cut, transcript, export, or filler-word detection result will be perfect or suitable for every use case. You should review output before publishing or distributing it.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or business damages arising from your use of LocalCut AI. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Termination

This license terminates automatically if you violate this agreement. After termination, you must stop using LocalCut AI.

App Store terms

If you obtained LocalCut AI from the Mac App Store, Apple's standard terms and App Store rules may also apply to your use of the app.
