Privacy Policy

TextHalo ("we," "our," or "us") is designed with a privacy-first approach. We believe that your writing and your API keys belong to you. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

1. Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or share your personal data through our own servers. TextHalo operates as a client-side application on your device. We do not require user accounts, and we do not operate a hosted backend for processing your requests.

2. API Keys

TextHalo uses a bring-your-own-key model. To use supported AI providers, you may provide your own API key, such as an OpenAI API key or an Anthropic API key.

• Your API keys are stored locally on your device.
• Your API keys are not sent to our servers.
• Your API keys are used only to authenticate requests sent directly from your device to the selected provider.

3. How Your Text Is Processed

When you use features such as Refine, Summarize, Grammar Fix, Simplify, Expand, Shorten, Translate, or Custom Commands, the text you choose is sent directly from your device to the AI provider you selected for processing.

• Direct connection: data is transmitted directly between your device and the selected provider.
• No intermediary processing: we do not read, store, or access the text you submit.
• Provider policies apply: your use of third-party AI services is also subject to the privacy terms of those providers.

4. App Permissions

TextHalo may request system permissions, including Accessibility permissions, solely to perform its core functionality, such as reading selected text and replacing it with improved output at your request. These permissions are used only for app features and not for unrelated monitoring or tracking.

5. Third-Party Services

TextHalo connects to third-party AI services only when you choose to use them. We recommend reviewing the privacy terms of the provider you use, including:

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

Terms of Use (EULA)

These Terms of Use govern your use of TextHalo. By downloading, installing, or using TextHalo, you agree to these terms.

1. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use TextHalo for your personal or business use on Apple-branded devices you own or control, in accordance with applicable law and the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

2. Subscription and Billing

Some features of TextHalo may require a paid subscription, including TextHalo Pro. If you purchase an auto-renewable subscription, payment will be charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.

• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple account settings after purchase.

3. Bring Your Own API Key

TextHalo may require you to use your own third-party API key to access certain AI services. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API keys and for any charges, usage limits, or obligations associated with your third-party provider account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use TextHalo in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
• Use TextHalo to infringe the rights of others.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or misuse the app beyond rights allowed by law.
• Use third-party AI services through TextHalo in violation of their terms.

5. Third-Party Services

TextHalo may rely on third-party services such as OpenAI or Anthropic. We are not responsible for the availability, output, pricing, security, or policies of those third-party services. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.

6. Intellectual Property

TextHalo, including its design, branding, software, and related content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not transfer any ownership rights to you.

7. Disclaimer

TextHalo is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated output will always be accurate, complete, or suitable for your needs.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, revenue, or business, arising from or related to your use of TextHalo.

9. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated by you or us. Your rights under these Terms will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with them.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction, except where consumer protection laws require otherwise.

11. Apple Standard EULA

If required by Apple, the licensed application is also subject to the Apple Standard End User License Agreement (EULA). In the event of a conflict between these Terms and the Apple Standard EULA, the Apple Standard EULA will control to the extent required.
